EVENT: MTC / ELMER TRETT NATIONALS PROSTAR race at Atlanta Dragway in 2003

RAIN HALTS MTC / ELMER TRETT NATIONALS PROSTAR EVENT AT ATLANTA DRAGWAY

(Sunday, April 6 - Atlanta Dragway) Mother Nature won again this weekend at Atlanta Dragway. 300 plus motorcycles came to the track this weekend with the intent of winning their class during the MTC / Elmer Trett Nationals.

Unfortunately, they were thwarted by another frequent visitor to the track this year, rain. Saturday's action was delayed until 1: 30 in the afternoon by the morning rains, but everyone was able to finish qualifying. After the fifth rain delay late Sunday afternoon, the promoters held a meeting with the racers. Their decision was to complete Atlanta's race during the AMA / Prostar Spring Nationals event at Virginia Motorsports Park in Dinwiddie, Virginia, on May 3-4, 2003.

Sanctioned by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), Atlanta Dragway is located just off I-85 at Exit 149 in the Banks Crossing area of Commerce, Georgia. Information on all 2003 events, including the 23rd annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals presented by Pontiac on May 1 - 4, may be obtained by calling the track office (706-335-2301) or logging on to www.atlantadragway.com.
