Due to hacker activity on this site, we had to make drastic changes to our photo album. You can find links to the old photos on our site, below, but they are not presented as nicely as before and there just isn't time right now to update it into pretty web pages. Maybe some time this winter it will happen.

Hoyt Grimes Photos
Hoyt Grimes was one of the leading pioneers of drag racing in Georgia. He was called the Granddaddy of Southeastern drag racing as early as 1962. Hoyt pretty much dominated gas dragster racing in Georgia and much of the Southeast in the early years. In 1965, Hoyt suffered a top end blow-over type wheelstand at Bristol that gravely injured him. It effectively ended his driving career, but Hoyt fought back and remained active in drag racing for several years. At the age of 80, Hoyt still actively works at his lifelong career as a machinist and with high performance engines of all types. If you ever get the chance to meet him, you'll be truly inspired......I know that I am! - David Dilbeck

1989 Camaro RS For Sale
1989 Camaro RS for sale. Engine broken/blown. Previous owner thought it might have broken a rod, but engine was not checked out. Interior is rough. Body is decent. V-6 and AT in car. Thanks to Toby Denham for sharing his 1970s photos from Atlanta International Dragway (now Atlanta Dragway) and Atlanta Speed Shop Dragway. The photos from Commerce were taken in 1976 at the first national meet held there (IHRA) and the pics from Covington were taken in 1974 or 1975.

Looking for a particular photo? Try searching in the Google search box that's on just about every page of this site. You can search for a person's name, a location, or just about anything else that may be on the site, even the make or model of a car.
If you know the number of the photo, try searching in the Google search box. Be sure to search on a full five-digit photo number, i.e., to find photo 117, search for 00117. Or search for GDR-00117. Add enough leading zeros to make a five-digit number.
