Atlanta Dragway Results
RACE DATE: September 22, 2002FROM: Tim Glover EVENT: Snap-On Tools Day at the Races at Atlanta Dragway SNAP-ON TOOLS DAY AT THE RACES A HIT AGAIN IN SPITE OF RAIN (September 22, 2002 - Atlanta Dragway) Each year, Snap-On Tools Corporation puts on the "Day at The Races" for its customers, which has become an extremely popular event. Spectator admission and racing is paid for by Snap-On. All its customers have to do if they want to race is show up with the invitation given out by Snap-On Tools representatives. In spite of the rains that ended the day prematurely for the thousands of Snap-On tools customers, all had a good time. Everyone who wanted to was able to make time trials, and several rounds of competition were completed before rain paid yet another visit to the facility. Rain couldn't stop the annual burnout contest, since the point of this event is spinning the tires and creating as much smoke and excitement as possible. Kevin Davis from Blairsville won this contest with his red '93 Ford F-150. His prize was a 1/12 scale ceramic Dale Earnhardt, Jr. race car replica valued at $525. Because the winner and runner up in each race car class had not been determined, all remaining contestants were entered in a drawing. Two names were drawn from each class, with the first being declared the winner, and the second one was runner-up. The winner's prize was a $2600 Roll Cab toolbox. Second place was a 1/12 scale ceramic Dale Earnhardt, Jr. race car replica valued at $525.
